12:00 - Beatriz Creel: Miss.under.stood Workshop
A LARP about trying to understand and maybe failing in the process.
Players must be people who like to decipher codes and symbols, to make sense of the information given to be able to turn abstract materials into proven assumptions. It is important that they are able to commit to their character to get the best results and finally to be able to work as a team and under pressure since there will be a limited frame.
Beatriz Creel comes from the megalopolis of Mexico City and is currently based in London, where she is pursuing an MA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths, University of London. Categorised as chaotic, surreal, unique, her background unexpectedly has been a significant aspect of her identity as a person and as an artist in contrast to what she encountered when moving to the UK. Her artistic practice has been influenced heavily by the concept of play, participative games and ludic experiences. Creel often performs as a facilitator/game master in exhibitions, encouraging people to interact and explore. Despite her technical abilities, play is her medium because to experience precedes interpretation. From forms of free-play, Larping, video games, board games, playgrounds, publications and more, she continually reinvents herself, her work and her thoughts.
